The documentary is a captivating portrait of world-famous Danish architect Henning Larsen who created the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and the Copenhagen Opera House. In this film, shot one year before Larsen’s death, and in spite of the mildness of old age, Larsen manages to talk sharply and critically about the relationship between art and power. In a portrait based around the architect, the director uses subtle gestures to create an atmosphere where the viewer has the time and space to reflect on Larsen’s ideas and aims. Light and darkness, open and closed spaces meet in a cinematic contemplation.
