A short film is about the endless celluloid remains of a movie deposit in Cluj, an institution which became outdated both in technological and economical terms. In the meantime, we come closer to our common past through personal stories. After ‘89 the deposit was less and less needed and as it usually happens in Eastern Europe where past is so fast forgotten, after the collapse of the company, everything was left as it was.

The film, based on the SPACES project, shows a new image of four major Eastern European cities. The director followed artists and activists who try to regain their right to the city and their freedom of expression with wit and creativity. A cinema gets occupied, an old Soviet circus reactivated, a gloomy underground passage transformed into an ironic but glamorous arena and a factory site converted into a cultural Agora. The film shows that conditions are similar in Tbilisi, Yerevan, Chisinau and Kiev, where civil society revolts, led by artists. All actions and projects reclaim public space in artistic and innovative ways.
